Richfiled to Kanosh
This ride leaves directly out of RIchfield and does not require that you trailer your ATV to a staging area. There were almost 30 rigs on this ride almost evenly split betweeen ATV's and 50" RZR's. We meet in town and headed over to the 04 trail which in just North of I70. We took the 04 until it intersected with the main 01 trail. The ride up to the 04 is a wide twisting dirt road that does afford nice views of Richfield. After turning right on the 01 we continued almost 6 miles to where it intersects with side trail 11. At this point the main 01 trail heads off to the right. We took the 11 and continued West across the mountains. This area is a wide dirt road with cattle and a few structures. We stayed on this trail until to dead-ended at a T-intersection with side trail 10. We turned left on the 10 and continued until we came to the 01 trail. The 01 headed North and soon to us to side trail 06. This is the main trail into Kanosh.

The elevation at this point was a little over 8500 feet. We turned onto the 06 trail and headed down towards Kanosh. This trail travels about 4 miles before it intersects with side trail 15. If you turn left onto the 15 trail you can take it over to the Fremont Indian State Park & Museum. We however stayed on the 6 and continued down along a creek towards Kanosh. This was a nice section, it was a double wide ATV trail and had trees covering most of the route. From the intersection of the 6 and 15 trails, it was another 9 miles before we arrived in Kanosh. We stopped for lunch at the city park and took a break before our return trip. I would rate the trip to Kanosh as beginner to low intermediate. Nothing to difficult, mostly wide dirt roads and double wide ATV trails. The scenery was open pasture, some trees until you got to side trail 06 which was the most scenic part of the trip on the way to Kanosh.
At the top of the 97 trail it intersects with side trail 10. At this point we took the left fork and headed past where the 10 leaves the mountains and takes you into Joseph. By turning left at that point we were on the 11 side trail and continued until it met up with the 01 trail. This is the point where the 11 heads down the mountain into Elsinore. That is the route we took. At the bottom it crosses under Interstate 70 and we turned left on the dirt frontage road. We followed that road all the way back into Richfield. Overall this trip was enjoyable but not as scenic as other trips I have taken in this area. It was a little over 80 miles and while the Rocky Mountain ATV Jamboree rated it advanced, I would say it was more of an intermediate ride except for the length and maybe that few miles of steep 50" switchbacks on side trail 97. I posted my video below and a map of the route taken.
