I had been telling Pete about this gold fish pond for a while and he didn't beleive that it existed so we choose to camp just of highway 395 and 20 Mule Team Parkway. This saved about 20 miles round-trip from our usually camping spot off of Trona Rd. Thursday morning we headed out towards the old Air Force building that we call the Pill Box. From there we headed East and crossed highway 395. I decided to stop at the B1 Bomber Crash Site. Pete had never been there and it was right on our way. Unfourtunatley the story of the crash which was sealed in plastic and secured by a rock

was missing. Next time I am out this way I will copy the information from the link above and return it to the site. We contined east on FP5366 and turned left onto Hoffman Rd FP6209 and came upon the gold fish pond in 1.3 miles. It is much easier to find heading North then if you were headed south on Hoffman Rd. On Friday morning Ed and Sean showed up and since they also didn't believe that there could be a gold fish pond in the middle of the desert, we repeated our trip. Each day we took a different way back to camp. On Friday I took a detour over to Cuddeback Dry Lake to see if I could find a work colleague of mine who was going to be out in that area. Unfortunately, I did not find him. I combined the two trips into a single video which is posted to my YouTube channel "Barry's ATV Adventures" and is also embedded below.
